The armchair by Werner Aisslinger comes back in a limited edition and with a new name: Juli Jubilee. Main character of the project is needle punching, an ancient craft technique allowing a very accurate pattern reproduction and striking shade effects. In this case, the canvas for the decorative element is provided by the upholstery leather layer, manufactured with over 100.000 stitches by four machines that were built in collaboration with needle punching experts to guarantee the same accuracy of a handmade embroidery. Juli Jubilee is available in Flower and Dots Small variants, as well as Dots Big versions in which velvet and embroidery technique define the decorative pattern. Each article in the collection is available in only 33 pieces.
Born in Germany in 1964, Werner Aisslinger worked as a freelancer in many well-known design offices including those of Jasper Morrison, Ron Arad and de Lucchi prior to setting up his own in Berlin in 1993. Aisslinger was chosen many times for the Compasso d’ Oro and other important European awards. He has designed items which can currently be seen in the permanent collections of MoMA, Vitra Design Museum and New York Metropolitan.
