Jakob Wagner

Denmark, 1963

Born in Denmark in 1963 Jakob Wagner did his first degree in Design-Engineering. After studies and internships in USA, Italy and France he completed his second degree in Product Design at Art Center, Switzerland in 1992.
In 1993 he opened Jakob Wagner Studio in Copenhagen initially focusing on high tech products for sports, professional and medical applications.
Jakob Wagner’s work has been exhibited internationally and has received numerous awards (4 IF awards, 3 Red Dots, Bundespries, Designer of the year, etc) and is included in the permanent exhibition at MOMA New York.
Jakob Wagner has a rare ability to express the very essence of a product in a simple yet sophisticated way. He wants his objects to be visually naked and at the same time have subtle poetic qualities that touch us emotionally.
